NATO Responds to Russian Threat: Extensive Nuclear Exercises and US Arms Deployment in the UK

NATO and its allies are taking unprecedented measures to counter the growing threat from Russia, planning extensive military exercises and deploying nuclear weapons in the United Kingdom for the first time in the last 15 years. These actions reflect deepening concerns over European security following Russia's aggression in Ukraine and signify the allies' determination to bolster their defense capabilities and readiness for a potential conflict.

NATO has developed the "Steadfast Defender 2024" exercises, simulating a nuclear conflict with Russia. RAF Lakenheath in Suffolk has been selected as the location where B61-12 gravity bombs will be stored, capable of being launched from fighter jets.
